Aroma Raw Chocolate Specialty Store Maison Cacao Celebrates 6th Anniversary! The Brand's First-Ever "Raw Sachertorte" Now Available

Apr 12, 2021
Maison Cacao Co., Ltd., operator of the aromatic raw chocolate specialty store "MAISON CACAO," will celebrate its sixth anniversary on April 25, 2021. To express its gratitude to its loyal customers, the company will be re-releasing its limited-edition "Raw Sachertorte" to commemorate the anniversary, as well as its popular "Chocolate Banana" raw chocolate and sweets, a menu item that was available since the company's founding, for a limited time.

"Raw Sachertorte" (¥5,400 including tax)
Sachertorte is the king of chocolate cakes. "Raw Sachertorte" was born from the desire to offer a new approach as a raw chocolate brand, offering a heavy, classic flavor with a focus on melt-in-your-mouth texture. To ensure a light yet rich chocolate flavor, we use original couverture made specifically for the fresh Sachertorte, taking into consideration its compatibility with apricots.

From the bottom up, the first layer is a fluffy sponge cake that is airy like a chiffon cake, and is moistened by soaking it in apricot syrup. The second layer is a rich ganache made with two types of original couverture, one with a nutty flavor and one with a gorgeous cocoa flavor. The third layer is sponge cake, the fourth layer is apricot jam, and the fifth layer is sponge cake, and the entire cake is then coated with ganache.
The brand's first-ever "fresh Sachertorte" will be available for sale for just two days, April 24th and 25th, at the Komachi main store, with a limited run of 100 units.

"Aroma Nama Chocolate Chocolate Banana" (2,376 yen including tax)
Aroma Nama Chocolate is their flagship product and currently comes in nearly 50 varieties. When the brand was founded, there were only six flavors, and "Chocolate Banana" was one of them. To commemorate their 6th anniversary, Chocolate Banana Aroma Nama Chocolate is being re-released, even more delicious than before. The key is almond milk. Almond milk has been added to the mellow, sweet milk chocolate, which pairs well with the generous amount of banana puree, to add depth to the flavor.

An aromatic raw chocolate brand that opened on Komachi-dori in Kamakura in 2015. Committed to deliciousness and sustainability, and with a desire to create products that will last for a long time together with producers, the brand uses 100% Colombian cocoa beans carefully selected by representative director Ishihara. He has been involved in cacao cultivation in Colombia since the beginning. Wishing to further enrich the world through cacao farming and to share its appeal with future generations, he also devotes himself to educational activities outside of the cacao farm. His signature product is "aroma raw chocolate," with over 50 varieties made with fresh couverture and seasonal ingredients. Many of these are seasonally limited editions, and due to their rarity, they are known as "phantom chocolates."

Born in 1984, Ishihara was originally unable to eat chocolate, but he was captivated by the freshness of the raw cacao he ate in Colombia and the scenes filled with smiles as producers and consumers connected through cacao. "I want to create a culture in Japan that enriches everyday life with chocolate," he said. In 2015, he founded the predecessor of the aroma raw chocolate brand, "ca ca o." He has been involved in cacao cultivation in Colombia since the beginning and developed his own original couverture. We combine ingredients we've personally experienced to offer a new chocolate experience.
