JAL x Jean-Paul Hévin in-flight sweets to be renewed from December

Nov 18, 2014

Starting December 1st, Japan Airlines will be updating the macarons and chocolates it serves on board every three months. This service is the result of a collaboration between JAL and the chocolate maison Jean-Paul Hevin. The collaboration between JAL and Hevin began in 2012 with the aim of providing a relaxing experience on board at an altitude of 12,000 meters. Starting in December, new macarons and chocolates will be served every three months in first and business class. Starting December 1st, JAL will be offering two types of macarons and chocolates in first class on international flights: Macaron Amer and Macaron Aube. Macaron Amer is a classic macaron with a bitter, rich cocoa flavor. Macaron Aube, on the other hand, is an original JAL menu item, featuring a ganache sandwich made with lychee, jasmine, and Madagascar cocoa, with a refreshing citrus aftertaste.

In addition, on long-haul business class routes, in addition to the "Macaron Ameur," which is the same as in first class, "Macaron Millien" will be served. It uses a ganache scented with Montagne, lavender, heather, and three types of honey.

On medium-haul business class routes, the chocolate "Petit Palais" will continue to be served. Four varieties will be available, including "Petit Palais Les Cafés," which offers the sweetness of milk followed by a lingering coffee finish, and "Petit Palais Presilien Noir," bitter chocolate made with South American cacao and topped with almonds.
