Women adding flowers to cars. A variety of mini-length and brightly colored outfits appeared at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show

Nov 22, 2013

At the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, women dressed in gorgeous costumes attracted just as much attention as cars and automotive products. Here are some of the most unique outfits from the 2013 Costume Collection.

Bridgestone chose a black, A-line mini dress to match the monotone color scheme of their booth. The long boots, thick, hard bangles and choker, and sheer long gloves were all black. Furthermore, the use of futuristic materials evoked the company's tires, and the skirt featured a long back line, complementing the vibrant red lining.

Stanley Electric, a leading manufacturer of automotive lighting, chose a mini flared dress in the company's corporate colors of orange and white. The skirt featured a double layer of soft orange fabric layered over a white layer of the same material, allowing for a glimpse of the orange at the hem with each step. The detachable collar, subtly featuring the company's logo, was also noteworthy. RAYBRIG's race queen showed off a bold, skin-revealing style in a super-mini pleated skirt and long boots. However, the white base gave it a refreshing impression. The blue accents, such as the collar and waistband, and the pink ribbon around the chest, gave it the feel of an anime character's costume. Tokai Rika, which handles cutting-edge cockpit technology, expressed the evolution of their products with the drape of a flared dress. The light gray outfit, matching the booth's colors, had a subdued feel, but it featured a large V-neck and slit sleeves from the shoulders to the elbows. The red dahlia hair accessory added a feminine touch. Subaru's gorgeous race queens also attracted attention. They wore revealing silver tops, lightly slipped on a white sporty jacket, hot pants, and long boots. The understated colors of their outfits made the blue "race car" emblazoned with the sponsor's logo stand out.

In contrast to the subculturally inclined domestic manufacturers, the overseas manufacturers were: MINI wore a casual style of T-shirt and hot pants; BMW wore a two-tone blue and black dress incorporating the company's corporate colors; and Italian supercar manufacturer Pagani wore a seductive black dress made of see-through material, clearly expressing their brand colors.

Overall, costumes based on white, blue and more blue stood out.
