Motor Show Uniforms Part 1/2 - Mercedes is A Degree Fahrenheit [Tokyo Motor Show 2013]

Nov 22, 2013

The companions decorate the booths of various automakers exhibiting at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. The uniforms they wear feature designs specific to each company (car).

The dress worn by Mercedes-Benz companions was designed by designer Yu Amano of A DEGREE FAHRENHEIT.

The dress features ruffles on the left shoulder and right hip, and a red feather pattern printed on a white background. The design was inspired by the SLS AMG GT FINAL EDITION supercar, which Mercedes unveiled for the first time at the event. This car is the final model of the SLS AMG. It features a body finished in a contrasting red and black color scheme, and gull-wing doors that open upward like wings. Tianjin designed the uniforms, inspired by the car's speed, dynamism, and gull-wing doors. He even attended the morning assembly on the first day of the motor show to personally explain the design points. He also designed the ties, handkerchiefs, and scarves for the staff. These also feature the same pattern as the companion costumes, with red accenting the dark suits and white shirts. The company has been the title sponsor of Tokyo Fashion Week since 2011 and has collaborated with Yuima Nakazato, Emomonakia, and Onomoto Nari. A Mercedes-Benz Japan spokesperson said, "We focus on design and offer cars that look cool. We hope that fashion-conscious people will also be interested in our company." The venue also featured the "Concept S-Class Coupe," making its Japan debut, and the new "G-Class," a popular model among fashion professionals.
