Nov 22, 2013

Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. has begun development of the Hokuriku region's first full-scale outlet mall, "Mitsui Outlet Park Hokuriku Oyabe (tentative name)," in Oyabe City, Toyama Prefecture.

This will be the 13th Mitsui Outlet Park in Japan, with construction scheduled to begin in fiscal 2014 and opening in fiscal 2015. The planned site is close to the major arterial road, National Route 8, and interchanges for the Noetsu Expressway and Hokuriku Expressway. Furthermore, with the Hokuriku Shinkansen scheduled to open in spring 2015, the location offers excellent access from within the prefecture and the wider Hokuriku region. The facility will be enjoyable for both domestic tourists and inbound tourists from Asia and elsewhere.

The two-story indoor mall, designed with the climate in mind, will house approximately 150 stores. In addition to offering a wide selection of domestic and international brands, including women's and men's fashion, children's, sports & outdoor, accessories, and fashion accessories, the mall is also considering attracting local restaurants and other shops incorporating local produce.
