A juice shop called "Why Juice?" (1F, 13-8 Daikanyama-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) will open in Daikanyama, Tokyo, on July 11th. Hours are from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
The juice is made using pesticide-free or reduced-pesticide vegetables and fruits sourced from contracted farmers across the country. The juice is produced using the "cold-pressed" method, which involves manually pressing the juice over time to extract the nutrients without destroying them. The absence of peels and other solids makes the juice clear, easy to drink, and gentle on the stomach. The remaining fruit and vegetable pieces after pressing are sent to nearby farms to be used as livestock feed, and the shop is eco-conscious, using glass bottles instead of plastic bottles.
In addition to producing and selling juice at its Daikanyama shop and factory, the shop will also sell juice from a mobile bicycle wagon. The travel schedule can be viewed on a GPS-linked map online and on social media, and delivery service is also available to offices, shops, and studios. The lineup includes "Charge Apple + Carrot + Celery + Ginger" (600 yen), which gently raises blood sugar levels and gives you an energy boost in the morning; "Fresh Green Kale + Celery + Lemon" (800 yen), which supports women's health; and "'R' Detox Rosemary + Coriander + Beetroot + Carrot + Apple" (1,200 yen), which provides a delicious detox.
Shops offering cold-pressed juices are opening one after another, including the dining establishment at "THREE Aoyama" and the Aoyama branch of "FICO & POMUM," which will open in mid-July. While easy-to-enjoy foods like pancakes and popcorn have become popular in recent years, it may be that healthy juices, which require time and effort, are the next big thing.
