
The ELLE cafe in Roppongi Hills will be hosting an organic kale fair called "ELLE LOVES KALE!" from July 1st to August 31st. During the event, a variety of food, drinks, and sweets made with domestically grown organic kale from contracted farmers will be available. The "Kale Burger" (880 yen) is a burger featuring low-calorie, high-protein domestic chicken breast and plenty of sautéed organic kale, sandwiched between an original bun infused with charcoal to support detoxification. The burger is topped with stewed lentils, rich in antioxidant vitamin E and folic acid, as well as colorful vegetables, making it a satisfyingly healthy burger. The "Kale Bowl" (800 yen) is an ELLE cafe-style take on the popular "green bowl" from Hawaii, a Hawaiian staple following the acai bowl. The Green Bowl is a menu item made with leafy vegetable and fruit purees such as granola, and this time it features organic kale as well as kiwi, banana, and cold-pressed juice.
Other menu items include the "Kale Cleanse" (300ml/980 yen), a cold-pressed juice blend of superfoods such as chia seeds, mustard greens, pineapple, and basil; the "Kale Sandwich" (1,080 yen), a sandwich of sautéed organic kale and grass-fed beef steak (raised on pasture without any chemical feed) on low-GI whole wheat bread; and the "Kale Chicken Salad" (980 yen), featuring organic kale and red quinoa, which provides more than half of your daily recommended dietary fiber in just one pack.
