Popular shaved ice shop, Kuramoto Yagi Natural Ice's "Nakamachi Hyoukaten" will be back at Ginza Loft this year

Ginza Loft will be reopening its pop-up store for "Nakamachi Hyoukaten: Kuramoto Yatsuyoshi's Natural Ice Shaved Ice" (Smilal Company, Inc.: Representative Director Takashi Nagano), which was well-received last year, on July 18th.

"Natural Ice Shaved Ice Nakamachi Hyoukaten" is a summer-only store at "NAKAMACHI CAFE" in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. It's a popular shop with long lines on holidays, selling 350 cups of ice a day. Using natural ice from the Yatsugatake brewery in the Southern Alps, professionally shaved to a fluffy texture, the ice melts in your mouth. The balance of the fresh, rich fruit sauce made from fresh fruit and the special condensed milk topping creates a refreshing flavor that captivates many shaved ice fans. Natural ice is made slowly over time using only the natural cold during the winter, resulting in highly pure, clear ice without any impurities. The natural ice made in winter is stored in "himuro" (icehouses) until summer. In the early Showa period, there were nearly 100 himuros across the country, but now there are only five. Furthermore, last year's warm winter meant that natural ice production was roughly halved in many places, making it extremely rare.
