The first thing that catches your eye is the large, fluffy cotton candy on top of the ice. This cotton candy, made with a blend of Kyoto-grown roasted green tea and Hokkaido-grown peppermint, is delicious on its own. The fragrant, pleasant bitterness of the roasted green tea is followed by a refreshing peppermint flavor. Whether served with sauce or shaved ice, the flavors were developed through repeated trial and error to ensure a harmonious overall taste.
For the sauce, essential to shaved ice, we offer the classic strawberry and condensed milk. The strawberry sauce is made with 4-5 domestic summer strawberries, creating a luxuriously rich sauce. The distinctive tartness and sharp flavor of summer strawberries enhance the flavor of the cotton candy and pairs perfectly with the condensed milk sauce made from milk produced in Tokyo. The condensed milk ice cream served with the shaved ice is made with the same milk as the condensed milk sauce, so whether eaten alone or with shaved ice, the rich, milky flavor fills your mouth. This year, we're using natural ice from Karuizawa. Fluffy, pure white ice is served in a double-walled, vacuum-sealed titanium container.
