Karuizawa Marriott Hotel (Karuizawa, Kitasaku District, Nagano Prefecture) will be serving two types of shaved ice at its restaurant "Grill & Dining G" from July 1 to August 31, 2023. The ice is made with fluffy ice made from deep seawater from Shinshu and topped with summer strawberries and white peaches.
Summer in Karuizawa is dazzling green, with a refreshing breeze blowing through. To further enhance your stay, guests will be soothed by nature and coolness, and we have prepared an original shaved ice made entirely from Shinshu produce. The fluffy shaved ice, made from deep natural water from the Central Alps of Shinshu, is topped with Shinshu summer strawberries and fresh white peaches. This shaved ice is generously topped with moderately sweet and tart summer strawberries grown in the unique climate of Shinshu and juicy white peaches, which are in season during the summer, and a fluffy layer of creamy, foamy yogurt. The refreshing yogurt cream brings out the natural sweetness of the fruit, creating a truly summery taste. About "Alpine Shaved Ice ~Strawberry & Peach~"
This shaved ice is made with ice from Miyashita Ice Factory, a Shinshu-based ice manufacturer and retailer with over 120 years of history. The water is carefully selected from deep natural spring water from the Central Alps of Shinshu, and the high-purity ice is made using traditional methods over 48 hours, resulting in a distinctively fluffy texture when crushed. We offer two flavors: "Strawberry & Yogurt," topped with fresh summer strawberries from Shinshu, and "Peach & Yogurt," drizzled with syrup made from juicy Shinshu peaches and garnished with domestic peaches. Enjoy them with the accent of fluffy, foamy yogurt cream.
