About the store

The zone features "Tsuruya Yoshinobu" with a chic wood grain design, and "IRODORI" with a refreshing white base. Two completely different spaces are connected by a gentle arch, expressing the fusion of tradition and evolution inside the store. There is no counter like in traditional Japanese sweets shops, and instead we have created a relaxed and free space where you can pick up and select sweets directly.

About the shopping bag exclusive to the Toranomon Hills store

The simple layout is inspired by a New York gallery and features a painting of a crane by Swedish artist Mats Gustafson. Painted with generous watercolor brushstrokes, the two cranes, reminiscent of ink painting, represent the Toranomon Hills store's concept of a relaxed blend of tradition and evolution, as well as the dignified and straightforward approach to making Kyoto sweets. The original artwork is on display in the store.

Mats Gustafson (1951- )
Born in Sweden. After graduating from Dramatiska Institutet in Stockholm, he worked in stage design before moving to New York to work on illustrations for Vogue. Since then, he has continued to provide illustrations for influential fashion magazines such as Visionaire, and has also worked on numerous visuals for Dior, Hermes, Tiffany, Yohji Yamamoto, and Comme des Garçons.
