The first truffle specialty store from Paris has arrived! Enjoy organic truffles from France in a casual setting

Jun 29, 2017

The Japanese flagship store of French truffle specialty store Artisan de la TRUFFE Paris will open on the first floor of Tokyo Midtown's Garden Terrace on July 14th.

Just like its Paris flagship store, this first-time Japanese restaurant will offer dishes made with plenty of high-quality French truffles, with an emphasis on using as much organic truffles as possible, as well as truffle salt and truffle oil. This restaurant will allow customers to enjoy rare truffles at affordable prices not previously possible in Japanese restaurants.

The interior is wood-themed, with simple counter and table seating, and customers can also enjoy the cooking process from the counter seats. The interior is the same as the flagship store in Paris, creating a modern space with a warm wooden feel.

Main chef Shigeki Sato will serve up dishes made with the finest fresh truffles of each season, including black truffles, white truffles, summer truffles, Bourmare truffles, and Burgundy truffles. The lineup includes "Caesar Salad Artisan Ibaraki Mousse Clam/Truffle/Parmesan" (2,100 yen), "Risotto à la Truffle" (2,200 yen), and Japan-only dishes such as "Chef Sato's carefully selected roasted Wagyu beef with seasonal vegetables, lily root, and sauce Périgord" (4,500 yen), "Sole and truffle demi-douille" (3,000 yen), and "Bonnet Artisan Truffle coulis and Chantilly chocolate" (1,300 yen).

In addition, in stores you can purchase "Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Black Truffle" (100ml, 2,300 yen / 250ml, 4,600 yen) and "Extra Virgin Olive Oil with White Truffle" (100ml, 2,400 yen / 250ml, 4,900 yen), which are popular in Italy, as well as "Summer Truffle Salt" (60g/1,500 yen), "Tomato Sauce with Summer Truffle" (190g/2,300 yen), and "Tagliatelle with Truffle" (250g/2,300 yen) at the same price as in Italy.
