This year marks the 25th anniversary of Frédéric Cassel, who opened his patisserie in Fontainebleau, southeast of Paris, in 1994. Did you know that the iconic angel logo actually features Frederic Cassel himself as the "Angel of Sweets"?

Since its launch in Japan in 2008, Frederic Cassel has been beloved by countless fans in Japan. Here's a look at this year's Christmas cakes!


Coffret Noel

"Coffret Noel" (Isetan Shinjuku Exclusive / ¥7,560 including tax)
"Coffret Noel" is a surprise cake inside a white chocolate gift box. The cake inside, a rich lemon-scented cream, sweet and sour red fruit jelly and mousse, and fragrant coconut create a gradation of flavors, making it a popular treat in France. Wrapped in a gorgeous chocolate ribbon, it's so artistically presented you'll almost regret eating it.


Mille-feuille Noel

"Mille-feuille Noel" (Ginza Mitsukoshi Exclusive/¥6,912 including tax)
Frédéric Cassel's "Mille-feuille Noel," dressed up for Christmas, is a huge hit every year. This luxurious mille-feuille, with its rich cheese cream and strawberries layered with crispy pie crust, and the tartness of the biscuit and strawberries creates a gradation of flavor, is a must-try! This is a specialty of ours.


Noel Blanc

"Noel Blanc" (Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store Exclusive / 5,940 yen)

As its name suggests, "Noel Blanc" is a pure white cake perfect for Christmas, layered with coconut-scented biscuit and soft, sweet white chocolate mousse. Caramelized bananas add a touch of flavor.


Chocolat Banane

"Chocolat Banane" (Limited to Sogo Yokohama and Entetsu Department Stores / ¥5,400)
"Chocolat Banane" is a coconut-flavored biscuit and moist chocolate biscuit layered with rich, bitter caramelized banana and soft, sweet chocolate mousse. The perfect combination of banana and chocolate is sure to captivate everyone, from children to adults.



Couronne de Noël

"Couronne de Noël" (Available at Frederic Cassel Mitsukoshi Ginza Store / ¥3,240)

"Couronne de Noël" is a strawberry compote wrapped in soft, sweet vanilla mousse and moistly baked biscuit. This adorable cake, shaped like a Christmas wreath, is perfect for the holiday spirit!


Jacqueline

"Jacqueline" (Available at Frederic Cassel Mitsukoshi Ginza Store / ¥3,780)
A fragrant dark chocolate mousse and smooth blond chocolate cream. "Jacqueline" is a classic cake, sensually blending two chocolates. The texture of the hazelnut biscuit contrasts with the smoothness of the chocolate, and the sweet pear compote create a sophisticated taste.


Other cakes on sale include "Biche Turin Chocolat" (5,400 yen), which is only available at the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, and "Plaisir" (4,536 yen), which is only available at the Nagoya Mitsukoshi Sakae and Hoshigaoka stores, as well as "Petit Couronne" (fraise/chocolate, 486 yen each) and the Christmas-only "Bonbon Chocolat Assortment" (4 pieces for 1,664 yen/6 pieces for 2,334 yen/10 pieces for 3,672 yen/15 pieces for 5,346 yen/30 pieces for 10,368 yen).
