IL PANZEROTTO, a popular wrapped deep-fried pizza restaurant from Milan, Italy, is making its Japan debut. It will open in Daikanyama, Tokyo on January 25th.

Panzerotto (wrapped deep-fried pizza) is a soul food that originated in Puglia, Italy. Due to its simplicity of preparation (just wrapping ingredients in pizza dough and frying it) and the convenience of being able to eat it with one hand, it has become a classic home-cooked dish passed down from mother to daughter in Italian households.
"Il Panzerotto" is committed to making panzerotto that allows you to enjoy the flavors of locally sourced and fresh ingredients, based on a recipe handed down for generations by the D'Alessio family, who live in the small town of Capurso, Bari, Puglia, Italy. By adding milk to the pizza dough and rolling it out thinner than usual, they achieve a crispy and fragrant texture, and the real pleasure is enjoying it freshly fried.
In 2015, their store in Milan, Italy, was certified as a "CERTIFICATO DI ECCELLENZA (Quality Restaurant)" by TripAdvisor, the world's most visited travel review site.
