The Yokohama Strawberry Festival 2019, an event showcasing new ways to enjoy strawberries, beloved by people of all ages, will be held at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Event Square from February 1st to 11th, 2019. 

First held in 2013, this year marks the seventh anniversary of the event, which attracted over 240,000 visitors last time out, allowing visitors to enjoy strawberries to their heart's content. A special tent will be set up within the venue, hosting a "Strawberry Market" featuring everything from food to miscellaneous goods. This year, a record 23 vendors will be participating, including four making their first appearance.


The first-time Migaki Strawberry Store will offer "Migaki Strawberry Cannet Red/White" (500 yen per glass, tax included), a sparkling wine with an elegant sweetness made with generous amounts of Migaki strawberries, the "edible jewel," and carefully crafted to pair with strawberry sweets.


Also available are Tokyo Strawberry Park's original "Meccha Strawberry Parfait" (500 yen including tax), where the yogurt and fresh cream are all packed with the deliciousness of strawberries and pink, Yokohama Motomachi Koroan's limited edition "Strawberry Fresh Dorayaki" (400 yen including tax), which is a popular brown sugar dorayaki with strawberries added, and Izu Strawberry In addition to sweets from first-time stores, such as factory's moist and fluffy Baumkuchen, which is made with three layers of strawberry, condensed milk, and strawberry dough coated in strawberry chocolate, and the ``Strawberry Baum Skewers'' (450 yen each, tax included), which are skewers of Benihoppe strawberries, you can enjoy exclusive strawberry sweets that can only be eaten here, as well as strawberry tasting sets and other unique dishes from each store.


In addition, strawberry farmers in Yokohama will be selling fresh strawberries picked that morning. The popular annual free strawberry sampling event, "Strawberry Sampling," will also be held again this year. In addition to "Ichigosan," a new variety of strawberry from Saga Prefecture that debuted in 2018, eight different types of national brand strawberries will be distributed on a daily basis: "Chibaberry," "Shinku no Misuzu," "Yotsuboshi," "Tochiotome," "Saga Honoka," "Beni Hoppe," and "Fukuharuka." In the outdoor space, there will also be strawberry-themed attractions for children.
During the event, cafes and restaurants inside Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse will be offering limited-time collaboration menus using brand strawberries. Strawberry goods will be sold in retail stores, and the entire Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse will be dyed bright red even more than usual for 11 days.
