Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo) will begin accepting reservations for three types of Christmas cakes, including the exquisite shortcake "Kiwami Gateau aux Fraises," made with carefully selected ingredients, as well as Christmas meat pies, which will add a touch of elegance to your Christmas party at home, from October 12, 2022. In addition, luxurious takeout cakes, perfect for treating yourself, and the traditional stollen cake will also be available from December 1.

This year's Christmas cakes include the shortcake "Kiwami Gateau aux Fraises," which sold out within two hours of reservations opening last year, as well as the "Christmas Mont Blanc," featuring the exquisite harmony of chestnut cream, maple crème brûlée, and salted caramel, and the "Buche de Noël Pistachio," with chocolate and orange hidden within pistachio cream.


<Extreme Gateau aux Fraises>


This classic shortcake is made every year with the utmost care using carefully selected ingredients. The sponge is made with free-range fertilized eggs called "Ramakou," combined with the elegant sweetness of Wasanbon and the richness of fermented butter. The slightly yellowish fresh cream is a unique blend primarily made with high-fat raw milk from the Konsen region of Hokkaido, giving it a rich aroma and mellow flavor. In addition, the strawberries used are "Amaou" from Fukuoka Prefecture. You can enjoy the luxurious taste of the sponge made with the finest ingredients, rich fresh cream, and the strong sweetness and moderate acidity of Amaou strawberries.


<Christmas Mont Blanc>


This Mont Blanc is made by sandwiching a salted caramel buttercream made with fleur de sel from Guérande between dacquoise pastry, sprinkling it with caramelized hazelnuts and marron glacés, and wrapping the whole thing in a richly sweet and fragrant Canadian maple syrup, Chantilly cream, and French chestnut cream. The harmony of sweetness and saltiness allows you to enjoy the smoothness of the cream and the texture of the nuts and chestnuts at the same time. It is a gorgeous dish in both appearance and taste.


<Buche de Noel Pistachio>


Buche de Noel is made with a cream made from two types of pistachios - roasted and plain - for a fragrant aroma, and is layered with chocolate mousse, orange cream, and biscuit chocolate for a luxurious taste. The chocolate is a balanced blend of dark and milk chocolate, and the orange from Grand Marnier gives it a mellow aroma. The feuillantine and three types of cookies add a nice accent, making this a satisfying cake that you can savor while enjoying its textures and flavors.

To help you enjoy your Christmas at home even more this year, we've prepared a Christmas meat pie made with plenty of Bolognese prepared personally by our chef. We use every last bit of beef offcuts from weddings and buffets, roughly chopping them with a knife to preserve the meaty texture, and adding red wine and cultured butter to create a rich-flavored filling. The generous amount of Bolognese is wrapped in pie crust and baked to the flavor of Parmigiano-Reggiano, making this a hearty pie that pairs perfectly with wine or beer.

We also offer takeout cakes such as "Christmas Pistachio" and "Mont Blanc Tree," as well as the traditional Christmas treat "Stollen." We recommend treating yourself!

A rich, pistachio-filled cake made with pistachio biscuit, pistachio cream, and pistachio nougatine. The vibrant red of the glazeilles is combined with the green of the pistachios to create a Christmas color scheme.


2. Mont Blanc Tree


A baked almond tart with fig compote is decorated with fresh cream and French chestnut cream to resemble a Christmas tree.


3. Christmas Stollen


Dried fruits such as figs and apricots, as well as nuts, are soaked in a blend of spices and liquor carefully selected by our pastry chef for six months, allowing the flavors to slowly infuse. It also makes a wonderful Christmas gift.
