PARCO_ya, PARCO's first new store in 44 years within Tokyo's 23 wards, will open in Ueno on November 4th. The new area aims to attract a new customer base by catering to adults and adapting to the surrounding environment.
The lineup features 68 carefully selected companies aimed at discerning adults, with a focus on long-standing brands with a story behind their craftsmanship. Approximately 80% of the stores (52 stores) will be making their first appearance in the Ueno Okachimachi area, adding new value and appeal to the area, while approximately 20% (11 stores) are made up of companies and brands that have a "passion" for Ueno Okachimachi, have deep ties to the local community, and are rooted in craftsmanship. Ueno Yabusoba, whose main store was founded in 1892, has opened "Ueno Yabusoba," serving the flavors of this long-established restaurant in a calm, modern Japanese space, and will be introducing a new menu item exclusively at PARCOYA: a chewy buckwheat galette. Japanese restaurant Kurogi, known as one of the most difficult places to get a reservation in Tokyo, has opened a new Japanese-style cafe and bar called "Kitchen Otona Kurogi." In a dynamic and sophisticated Japanese space designed by architect Kengo Kuma, you can enjoy shaved ice and warabi mochi, exclusive to PARCOYA. KURA CHIKA byPORTER, a specialty store of Yoshida & Co., a long-established manufacturer that breathes the artisan spirit nurtured in Ueno, will be launching the new KURA CHIKA original series, "PORTER THINGS," at PARCOYA first. Additionally, CA4LA, which started out in Ueno's Ameyoko district and has grown into a national brand, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year by reopening its store in its original location in Ueno. The two-tone interior of brown and wood carving, with its high ceilings and open atmosphere, creates an inviting atmosphere for adults to enter and choose from. Hibiya Kadan, a long-established retailer making its first store in the Ueno Okachimachi area, has opened "HIBIYA KADAN," a flower shop that strengthens its appeal through a collaboration between art and plants. Parcoya will be selling an arrangement box, a new approach to casual flower gifts, where customers can place their bouquet of choice in a ribboned box and take it home to display. Motherhouse, a notable global company connecting developing countries with the world, will also be opening a store. Keep an eye out for their bags, which combine user-friendly functionality with high quality and stylish craftsmanship.
