Japanese confectionery shop HIGASHIYA will release "Kakigoromo," a luxurious winter-only confection made with a whole Ichida persimmon from Nagano, on October 3rd.

The confection is made by sandwiching special white bean paste and thinly sliced butter that melts in your mouth, then sprinkling it generously with Jonan flour. The special white bean paste is made with rich, unsweetened sugar made solely from sugarcane.
The subtle saltiness of the butter brings out the sweetness of the dried persimmon and white bean paste. This elegant white-battered confection, "Kakigoromo," is a popular winter staple from HIGASHIYA and makes a great gift or present.
Prices are 496 yen for one piece, 2,804 yen for five pieces in a paulownia wood box, or 4,292 yen for eight pieces, and the shelf life is 5 days from the date of manufacture (must be refrigerated). They are scheduled to be on sale until the end of January 2018 at HIGASHIYA GINZA, HIGASHIYA man, and the HIGASHIYA online shop (http://higashiya-shop.com/).
