Shiseido Parlour is holding a "Summer Curry Fair" featuring traditional curry sauce

Jul 7, 2017

Shiseido Parlour Nihonbashi Takashimaya, Yokohama Takashimaya, Yokohama Sogo, and Nagoya stores are holding a "Summer Curry Fair" until July 31st.

The fair offers curries that combine carefully selected ingredients with a twist on traditional curry sauce. The menu common to all four stores includes "Sangen Pork Stew Curry Rice" (2,000 yen), featuring tender Sangen pork simmered for two and a half hours and garnished with colorful vegetables.

The Nihonbashi Takashimaya store offers two dishes: "Colorful Vegetable Curry Rice" (1,900 yen), which uses summer vegetables cooked in a variety of ways, such as grilling, deep-frying, boiling, or confit, and is seasoned with salt and pepper to create a summery flavor; and "Yamagata Pork Loin Cutlet Curry Rice" (2,200 yen), which is made with carefully selected Yamagata pork loin and traditional curry sauce for the ultimate flavor. At the Yokohama Takashimaya store, they are offering "Colorful Curry Rice" made with vegetables such as okra, bitter melon, peppers, and pumpkin, and "Seafood Grilled Curry" (1,850 yen each), a doria-style dish made with squid, scallops, shrimp, and vegetables. At the Yokohama Sogo store, they are offering "Plenty of Vegetables Tomato Curry with Fried Shrimp" (1,900 yen), made with summer vegetables and tomatoes, and featuring fried shrimp, tartar sauce, and lime for a different flavor. At the Nagoya store, they are offering "Poached Lobster and Scallop Coconut Curry Rice (with soup)" (2,775 yen), which features firm lobster and scallops lightly sautéed to preserve their flavor. During the fair, they are also offering "Parfaits with Seasonal Ingredients," perfect for midsummer. The common menu items at all stores include the "Yamanashi Prefecture Akeno Blueberry Parfait" (1,600 yen) made with large, sweet blueberries, and the "Wakayama Prefecture Arakawa Peach Parfait" (1,700 yen *from mid-July to the end of July) made with ripe peaches. Also available exclusively at the Yokohama Takashimaya, Yokohama Sogo, and Nagoya stores is the "Nagano Prefecture Hime Ichigo Strawberry Parfait" (1,700 yen) made with "Koihime" summer strawberries harvested in Shiseido Parlour's private greenhouse, and the Yokohama Sogo store will offer a limited edition "Miyazaki Prefecture Ripe Apple Mango Parfait" (1,850 yen) made with apple mangoes that have been left to ripen on the tree until they naturally fall off.
