PIERRE HERME PARIS will begin taking pre-orders for its new dessert, "Galette des Rois," from December 1st. It will be on sale from January 4th to 23rd.
"Galette des Rois" is a traditional French pastry. It originally originated as a dessert eaten on Epiphany, January 6th, and even today it remains a traditional family event in which the whole family tries to guess the figurine called a "fève" inside the cake. The person who finds the fève becomes king or princess for the day, and places a crown on their partner to share their happiness.
"Galette Riollet et Agrùme Confit" (18cm, 4,000 yen) is a new product from 2016, made with reverse-folded pâté feuillete, vanilla-flavored Riollet, and citrus confit. Also available is the "Galette aux Amandes" (18cm, 3,400 yen), made with reverse-folded pâté feuillete and almond cream. Both come with beautiful fèves made with attention to detail. The fèves come in the shape of Pierre Hermé Paris's signature sweets and a crown.
They are available for sale at Pierre Hermé Paris Aoyama and other directly managed boutiques.
