Style Hotel Hotel Risveglio Akasaka (3-18-1 Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo) opened in Akasaka, Tokyo, on December 1st. Located just a two-minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, the 10-story hotel has a floor area of 269.65 square meters. The interior design was handled by Seki Furniture and Alive Produce, while the signage, logo design, and art curation were overseen by graphic artist and art director Shun Kawakami, president of artless Inc. The hotel offers 71 guest rooms in five types: compact 16-square-meter semi-doubles, doubles, Hollywood twins, rugged twins, and 64-square-meter atelier suites. Each room features original art by an up-and-coming artist, inspired by the hotel's name "RISVEGLIO" and its concept of "awakening" or "awakening." Participating artists include Shun Kawakami, hikaru, Gen Miyamura, TAKUMI Yoga, Jun Matsushima, MHAK, Yusuke Hanai, and Jun Inoue.
Also located on the first floor is the craft beer and grill restaurant 135TAVERN. The interior is a stylish space inspired by Brooklyn, blending modern and vintage styles. The lobby also features an IoT light installation art created in collaboration with Shun Kawakami and QM that changes based on weather information available online. This art allows guests to intuitively know the weather outside from the comfort of their own home. The "R" motif, part of the hotel's logo, changes color: orange for sunny days, light blue for cloudy days, and blue for rainy days. Currently, a product based on this installation is being developed for the general public that can be enjoyed at home or in the office, with similar functionality, scheduled for release in 2016.
