The fourth "Higashiya Ginza's Seasonal Mochi" event, hosted by the Japanese confectionery shop HIGASHIYA, will be held on July 3rd at Higashiya Ginza in Tokyo's Ginza district.
This event allows you to enjoy freshly made morning sweets by artisans, inspired by the 24 solar terms of the calendar, which have been cultivated through the rich sensibilities of the Japanese people. The first event featured "Mame Daifuku," the second "Sakura Mochi," and the third "Kashiwa Mochi." This fourth event will feature an original morning sweet, "Tanabata Mochi," in honor of Tanabata, a festival praying for bountiful harvests. The soft mochi dough is wrapped around elegant bean paste and topped with red rice, which represents the harvest, and wrapped in bamboo leaves, which are said to be the abode of the gods.
