New cocktails using vegetables and spices now available at Aoyama's "BAR RAGE"

Aug 13, 2014

BAR RAGE, which offers a cocktail style called "Mysochronology," will begin offering a new menu using sparkling mineral water Perrier on August 13th.

Mysochronology is a technique of blending seasonal fruits, vegetables, spices, and other ingredients with spirits. It is said to have originated in London around 2000 and has become popular worldwide among health-conscious individuals and women who love fruits and herbs. Perrier, in particular, is highly regarded as a cocktail ingredient due to its high-quality, stable bubbles.

The Mysochronology cocktails being offered this time are "Perrier Fruit Fizz," "Mint Julep," and "Perrier Squash." These cocktails were created or adapted by mysochronist Kuniyasu Ichimori, who offers Mysochronology at BAR RAGE, and will be available at the Aoyama and Plaza Ginza locations.

"Perrier Fruit Fizz" is an original cocktail with a three-layer structure of tomato, lemongrass, and Perrier bubbles. The contrast of pink is beautiful, and the combination of watermelon and basil is also recommended this season.

The Mint Julep is a must-order for bourbon lovers. It uses spearmint, which pairs well with Perrier, further enhancing its refreshing aroma. The Perrier Squash, meanwhile, embodies Ichimori's idea that Perrier, a naturally sparkling water, should be paired with natural ingredients. Made with only domestic lemons and high-quality honey, it's a simple yet luxurious drink.

Ichimori also proposes three non-alcoholic cocktails as part of his mixology using Perrier for easy enjoyment at home.

The Perrier Mojito recipe calls for adding 70ml of Perrier garnished with mint leaves, 10ml of lemon juice, and 5ml of gum syrup. The mint and lemon aromas are refreshing, and adding lime makes it even more authentic. Another simple and easy-to-make drink is "Perrier Orange," which is made by blending 60ml of Perrier with an equal amount of orange juice. Its pleasant carbonation gives your usual orange juice a soft, smooth texture. Finally, we also suggest "Perrier on Sherbet," a unique dessert cocktail. This is made by pouring an equal amount of Perrier over sherbet, and you can enjoy a variety of flavors by changing the flavor.
