Tokyo Midtown will be holding its annual summer event, "Midtown Loves Summer 2014," from July 18th to August 31st at the Midtown Garden Lawn. This year, the theme is "Japanese Summer," and the event will propose ways to spend the summer in the city.

This year's main event is a special collaboration with the highly anticipated Hollywood film "GODZILLA," which will be released on July 25th. A 6.6-meter-tall Godzilla will appear on the Tokyo Midtown Lawn, standing with Tokyo Tower and skyscrapers in the background. This meticulously crafted and impressive Godzilla is a 1/7th-scale replica that also serves as a great photo spot. A special evening performance featuring light, mist, and sound will make the monster even more impressive. There will also be a life-size Godzilla footprint measuring 18 meters in length and width, allowing visitors to experience its sheer size. Next to the Godzilla sculpture, the outdoor BACARDI MIDPARK CAFE, the world's No. 1 rum brand, will be open for a limited time. In addition to the mint-filled BACARDI Original Mojito, seven special mojitos featuring ingredients from around Japan will be available, rotating weekly. Enjoy refreshing drinks alongside Cuban and other tropical cuisine. Bacardi's popular Cuba Libre cocktail will also be served, with an original recipe using BACARDI Gold. Every nine-day event (July 19th, 29th, August 9th, 19th, and 29th) will be designated "Cuba Libre Day." Customers who order a Cuba Libre on these days will receive a free original metal cup on a first-come, first-served basis. During the event, miniature Nebuta floats from the three major Tohoku festivals will be on display on the first, second, and third floors of the Galilea facility. This spot is also enjoyable for foreign tourists and others as a photo spot. In addition, to cater to families visiting during the summer vacation, the museum will also be holding workshops for children and a stamp rally.

A facility representative said, "When the idea of putting Godzilla at Tokyo Midtown first came up, I couldn't really picture it, but once it was finished, it matched the surrounding skyscrapers and Tokyo Tower and turned out to be a magnificent piece that exudes a unique worldview. The nighttime production is impressive, and I think you can see an even more Godzilla-like appearance, so I hope you'll come to the cafe and enjoy watching Godzilla while sipping a mojito."
