Tiffany & Co. will celebrate its 50th anniversary in Japan in 2022. To celebrate this milestone, the legendary 128.54-carat Tiffany Diamond will make a special visit to Japan.
The Tiffany Diamond is renowned as one of the largest, rarest, and most unique yellow diamonds on Earth. It is currently set as the center stone of a necklace featuring over 100 carats of white diamonds. Only four people in history have worn this diamond, including Audrey Hepburn for the promotional shoot for the film "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and Lady Gaga at the 2019 Academy Awards.
This diamond, which solidified Tiffany & Co.'s reputation, symbolizes the brand's unwavering commitment to bringing out the full beauty of diamonds through the hands of artisans with unparalleled craftsmanship. Half a century after its arrival in Japan, 2022 marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for Tiffany & Co. This milestone year will see the launch of a special exhibition of the famed Tiffany Diamond, as well as the launch of exclusive jewelry pieces such as the Schlumberger Bird on a Rock brooch and the Elsa Peretti™ Diamonds by the Yard™ pendant.

The Tiffany Diamond was discovered in the Kimberley mines of South Africa in 1877 and acquired by Tiffany & Co. founder Charles Lewis Tiffany the following year. The 287.42-carat rough stone was cut to 128.54 carats, prioritizing brilliance over size. Measuring over 2.5 centimeters across, it boasts 82 facets, 24 more than the 58 facets of a typical brilliant-cut diamond. Its elegant cushion shape is a masterpiece of unparalleled beauty and exceptional craftsmanship. For over a century, Tiffany has designed this diamond into numerous high jewelry pieces, ensuring it remains a source of beauty and inspiration for generations to come. This extraordinary yellow diamond symbolizes the unparalleled quality and exceptional craftsmanship that Tiffany has pursued since its founding.

To mark this anniversary, Tiffany will launch a special "Bird on a Rock" brooch set with a dazzling yellow diamond reminiscent of the Tiffany Diamond, symbolizing the brand's unique blend of heritage and innovation, tradition and modernity. This dreamlike piece, designed by Jean Schlumberger in the 1960s, is one of the timeless creations of Tiffany's legendary designers, and its timeless design remains relevant even half a century later.
