Hotel Okura Tokyo's "Kappo Yamazato" dinner course now available for casual dining

Jan 4, 2022
The Okura Tokyo, operated by Hotel Okura Tokyo Co., Ltd. (located in Minato Ward, Tokyo), offers a setting for even more enjoyable dining experiences. Starting January 11, 2022, Yamazato, a traditional Japanese restaurant that uses seasonal ingredients and prepares dishes at the chef's discretion, will offer a "Nagisa" dinner course, a shortened version of the standard course, exclusively for first-time guests. Other restaurants within the hotel will also take advantage of the hotel's features, such as the quality of ingredients and dishes, comfortable spaces like private rooms and counters, and attentive service that meets individual requests, to offer even more luxury and hospitality to "food," an increasingly important daily pleasure amidst restrictions on movement.

About the Restaurant and New Courses Kappo Yamazato is a counter restaurant with limited seating for eight, aiming to be the pinnacle of hotel Japanese cuisine. Using seasonal ingredients carefully selected by our head chef, we create a "Chef's Choice Course" of over ten small dishes. Enjoy discussing with the chef how to prepare the most delicious dishes of the season. Experience a one-of-a-kind dish prepared right before your eyes, immersed in the heat of the charcoal fire and fragrant aromas. This unique space allows you to experience new, unconventional Japanese cuisine while respecting tradition. The five private rooms overlook the rock gardens—named "Canyon," "Abyss," "Rough Reef," and "Seaside"—which mimic the water flowing from the valley-like water basin at the hotel entrance, Okura Square, to the sea. Within this scenery, Kappo Yamazato is located at the seaside, and so we have named our new course, which we propose as a guide to authentic Japanese cuisine, "Nagisa."
