Pas de Calais, celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, will host a pop-up store at the Paris select shop Merci during Paris Fashion Week from February 25th to March 11th. To coincide with the launch, three collaboration items with Merci will be released in Paris, New York, and Japan. The plant-dyed bag (7,000 yen) features a two-way design, serving as both a tote and a shoulder bag. Available in three colors: beige dyed with yellow tallow, khaki dyed with rhubarb, and charcoal dyed with ink, the interior pocket features the Merci logo. The striped square stole (11,000 yen) is made from a blend of modal, rayon, and linen, with an uneven dyeing effect. Pas de Calais' classic, soft vintage jersey pullover (four styles and four colors, priced from 5,500 to 8,800 yen) will be available in a Merci-exclusive colorway. Both items are scheduled to go on sale in Japan in mid-March.
The collaboration items come with a "merci coin," which was created for charity and is actually sold by Merci.
Pas de Calais was launched as a brand project in 1998, with the first store opening in Shibuya Parco. In the same year, it participated in the Paris and New York Collections, and began exporting overseas in 2001. An office and showroom in Paris were opened in 2012, and a global shipping store in New York in 2013. Inspired by the lifestyle of Pas de Calais, a region in northern France that is also known for its lace production, the brand proposes styles in soft, natural colors and made with natural materials.
