Famous brands and stylists are selling off their personal belongings at a charity event to support Tohoku through fashion

Jul 23, 2013

An event for "HOPE AND LOVE FROM PARIS," a charity project established by Japanese women working in the fashion industry in Paris with the aim of supporting areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, will be held on August 3rd at Marunouchi House on the 7th floor of Shin-Marunouchi Building. All proceeds will be donated to organizations supporting children in the disaster-stricken areas.

Tokyo's leading fashion and beauty specialists will gather under the theme of "Supporting Tohoku with Tokyo fashion." In addition to a flea market featuring famous stylists such as Keisuke Baba and Chiharu Momo, and Tokyo brands like Color and Muveil, there will also be a beauty workshop (¥3,000, reservation required) with private lessons from popular hairstylists and makeup artists, a talk show (¥2,000 admission) featuring Paris-based Eriko Nakamura, Toko Amemiya, and popular screenwriter Ellie Omiya, a "Horoscope Gathering" by Yukari Ishii, who writes horoscopes for Le Figaro Japon (¥3,000 participation), a kids' costume show hosted by Kumiko Iijima, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's stylist, and live music and DJ sets by special guests.

Since its founding in 2011, HOPE AND LOVE FROM PARIS has been donating funds to disaster-stricken areas through charity events held in Paris. Donations to date have been sent to a wide range of causes, including soup kitchen expenses, Geiger counters, wooden temporary housing, repairs to children's musical instruments, Sakura Line 311, Message 3.11, and the Fumbaro East Japan Support Project, totaling approximately 49.11 million yen. In August last year, a charity event was held at Marunouchi House with the theme of "healing and beauty," and proceeds of 4.17 million yen were sent to the disaster-stricken areas.
