HUGE opened its new restaurant brand, La Pesquera -MARISQUERIA-, in the new commercial complex OOTEMORI, which opened on the 2nd. The restaurant, located on the second basement floor, is the largest in the complex, with a total of 138 seats and an area of 323 square meters. This Spanish seafood restaurant, modeled after the marisquerias of Andalusia, is the largest of its kind in the complex. Previously, the company operated the Spanish-Italian concept restaurant RIGOLETTO, but this time, it offers a more Spanish-influenced take on coastal cuisine from the Basque Country and Andalusia, featuring seafood directly sourced from Sanriku and Shikoku. Using unusual ingredients like turtle tails and cococha, cod jaws, the restaurant will feature crab, shrimp, and shellfish in brancha (hot pot dishes) and arroz (rice dishes). The chef for this event will be Tomonori Kado of Dazzle Ginza, who trained under Ferran Adrea of elBulli. The restaurant's modern Spanish cuisine and casual tapas are also appealing. "When I first heard about the Otemachi Tower, it didn't really resonate with us, as we have two restaurants in Marunouchi. But as I learned more, I knew I wanted to open a restaurant in Otemachi, the heart of Tokyo. It's turned out to be a great restaurant!" said Yoshihiro Shinkawa, CEO of Huge. At the reception, he personally poured Txakoli, a lightly sparkling white wine from the Basque Country that's still rare in Japan, into BOTTEGA glasses to welcome guests. The wine, priced around ¥2,500 per bottle, and the foie gras tapas for ¥500, are also likely to be popular due to their reasonable prices.
