Baccarat Shop Marunouchi in Marunouchi, Tokyo, has reopened after a renovation. The new concept of the new Baccarat Shop Marunouchi is inspired by the French craftsmanship of the Baccarat village, and its design embodies the alchemy of the four elements that create crystal—fire, water, air, and earth—as well as exceptional craftsmanship and a tribute to French art and culture.

The space was designed by the renowned Paris-based design agency, Moinard Bétaille. The open, sophisticated design harmonizes with the sophisticated streets of Marunouchi, where a variety of architectural styles gather and global companies and luxury brands come together, and resonates with the lush greenery of Marunouchi Nakadori.

The design of the new store is filled with details that celebrate Baccarat's tradition and craftsmanship, such as display shelves inspired by the arches seen in the manufacture's windows, and cedar shelves and furniture with a charred finish that symbolically represents the smoldering wooden tools used in the crystal-making process, conveying the depth of the craftsmanship. The store's color palette is based on black, gray, and red, and the red of the niche lighting and the bubble mirror in the display window background evokes Baccarat's legacy of having its furnaces kept lit for 261 years.

The display cases showcasing the products include trunk-shaped cases reminiscent of the Baccarat pieces transported by horse-drawn carriage to the Paris World's Fair in the 19th century, and a steel ribbon console installed in front of the entrance, adding softness to the space and weaving the brand's story.

"B bar Marunouchi" also relocated and renovated at the same time, expanding by 1.6 times and transforming into a more sophisticated space. Guests are greeted at the entrance by Baccarat's signature candlestick, "Tsarine." Behind the "Baccarat Wall" filled with Baccarat glass, a luxurious space unfolds, featuring deep red sofas and chandeliers. Carefully selected lighting brings out the sparkle of the crystal, providing a one-of-a-kind experience.

The store also has a concept of encouraging encounters with Japanese culture, and at the back of the store a vermilion-lacquered Iwayado chest of drawers quietly exudes a presence in the sophisticated space.

Guests can select their favorite glass from over 200 types of Baccarat glassware, from rare vintages to the latest series, and enjoy an haute couture cocktail experience created by B bar's bartenders, accompanied by carefully selected, top-quality ingredients such as B bar's original gin and whiskey, and seasonal fruit from contracted farms.

And as you leave, the "Bow" statue, a work by London-based contemporary artist Namekawa Yuka that was moved from "B Bar UMEDA," quietly bows its head, leaving visitors with a lingering impression of the beautiful courtesy unique to Japan.
