A new hub for Japanese culture will be born in a prime location in front of Yurakucho Station in Tokyo. Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. and NOT A HOTEL Co., Ltd. have teamed up to develop "YURAKUCHO PARK (tentative name)," a mixed-use development that will serve as a crossroads of urban and cultural life, on the site (approximately 10,800 square meters) of the former Yurakucho Building and Shin-Yurakucho Building, currently undergoing demolition. The project is scheduled to open in the second half of fiscal year 2026.

This project is more than just a temporary use of the land; it is positioned as a space where people can experience the evolution of the city. Along with "TOKYO TORCH" in Tokiwabashi, it is attracting attention as a symbol of the next stage in the reconstruction of the Marunouchi area.
Yurakucho to become a "gateway to global culture." "JAPA VALLEY TOKYO" to open in 2027
At the heart of "YURAKUCHO PARK" is "JAPA VALLEY TOKYO," a new project created by NOT A HOTEL and world-renowned creators Pharrell Williams and NIGO®.

Inspired by California's Napa Valley, this initiative replaces "wine brewing" with "the artisanal skills of sake," adding a new perspective to Japanese craftsmanship and aiming to create a next-generation tourism experience space that combines food, fashion, and art. At its heart will be sake, which Pharrell and NIGO® have developed over many years, and it is expected to become a magnet that attracts people from all over the world.

A collaborative piece with leading contemporary artist KAWS will also be on display. It is sure to attract international attention as a new iconic piece of art for Yurakucho.
What is YURAKUCHO PARK, an urban experience space where "culture to feel" comes together?
YURAKUCHO PARK has been designed as an experiential space where you can not only "see" but also "feel" the diverse aspects of Japanese culture. A key feature of this project is that, rather than constructing a new building immediately after the current building is demolished, the site will be temporarily used as a space where visitors can experience the "evolutionary process" that will lead to the next stage of urban development.

Mitsubishi Estate has previously utilized "parks" in urban spaces, such as "TOKYO TORCH Park" and "Marunouchi Street Park," not simply as green spaces, but as a means to connect people, culture, and the city. "YURAKUCHO PARK" is another attempt to expand the potential of this "urban stage."
A vision of concentration and dissemination embodied in the logo
The logo design for "YURAKUCHO PARK," which symbolizes the project, is based on the structure of the character "raku" (relaxed) from Yurakucho, and embodies the dynamism of people, information, and content gathering together and disseminating it to the world. The design, in which each part is independent yet points toward the center, visually expresses the idea of a place where different cultures and values mix together and create new chemical reactions.

Top creators also involved in architecture and design
The architecture and spatial design of "JAPA VALLEY TOKYO" will involve Mitsubishi Jisho Sekkei, which has been involved in urban development in the Marunouchi area for over 130 years, as well as the creative team of NOT A HOTEL, as well as Pharrell and NIGO® as advisors. The creation of a space that blends urban development and global culture will be promoted.

Pop-up stores and event spaces centered around art, food, and fashion are also planned to be set up within the space, making it a sort of "urban culture lab" where new discoveries and experiences will arise with every visit.
Reconstructing Marunouchi as a Key Player in the "City-Wide Workplace" Initiative
Beginning with the "Reconstruction of Marunouchi" initiative in 1998, Mitsubishi Estate has been developing the area in stages, approximately every 10 years. "YURAKUCHO PARK" is also the core of the company's "City-Wide Workplace" initiative, and functions as a platform for supporting and creating diverse urban experiences throughout the area that would be difficult for companies or individuals to achieve on their own. This initiative challenges the creation of urban value even before the physical development stage of rebuilding the buildings takes place. It is also attracting a lot of attention as an attempt to question the nature of new urban development.
