On October 12th, Prada will relocate and reopen its flagship store in Ginza 5-chome (5-8-17 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo). The store was designed by Italian architect Roberto Baciocchi, who has also worked on numerous Prada and Miu Miu stores. The façade, designed to pay homage to the work of Paris-based artist Carlos Cruz Diez, is comprised of gold-colored aluminum and backlit panels of polished steel. The total floor area is approximately 990 square meters. The store spans three floors and will offer women's and men's collections, including bags, clothing, shoes, and accessories. To commemorate the store's opening, Prada will release a two-tone tote bag made from Saffiano, a signature embossed calfskin leather. It will be available in three colors: blue and light gray, light gray and white, and pink and white, with an estimated price of 208,950 yen. It has an inner pocket and a strap that can be worn cross-body.
Prada opened its largest flagship store in the Kansai region in Shinsaibashi, Osaka in July of this year, and a flagship store in Kobe in September.
