Starting October 29th, Conrad Osaka will begin accepting reservations for two types of Christmas cakes, "Christmas Gift" and "Ribbon Buche de Noël," as well as takeout boxes of single-serving cakes, "Exotic Gift" and "Conrad Ornament," and the Christmas version of its popular afternoon tea, "Strawberry Gift Collection Afternoon Tea."

For Christmas 2021, Conrad Osaka's Executive Pastry Chef Jimmy Boulay will present the following two types of Christmas cakes, which evoke the excitement of giving gifts and the joy of opening them. The first is the stylish "Christmas Gift" cake, inspired by a gift box. This chef's masterpiece features 15 layers inside. Enjoy the complex layers of flavors, including gently sweet chocolate mousse, rich coffee cream made with the rare coffee bean "Kopi Luwak," banana vanilla compote, banana caramel, salted dark chocolate crispy biscuits, and cocoa sponge. The beautiful cross-section revealed when cut into pieces and the soft aroma of ginger will add color to your Christmas time with your loved ones. The second is the "Ribbon Buche de Noel," made with beautifully wavy hazelnut cream to resemble a ribbon wrapped around a gift. The glossy hazelnut mousse is surrounded by layers of caramel cream, pear vanilla compote, and almond sponge. The rich sweetness of hazelnuts is combined with the refreshing freshness of pear, resulting in a melt-in-your-mouth cake. Born and raised in Le Mans, located in the west of France, Boulay began his career as a chocolatier, apprenticing under Jacques Bélanger, who holds the most prestigious title of M.O.F. (Meilleur Ouvrier de France). He then trained as a pastry chef under Cedric Grolet, acclaimed as the world's best chef patissier, at Fauchon in Paris and the five-star Paris hotel Le Meurice. In October 2018, he was appointed Executive Pastry Chef of Conrad Osaka. He is in charge of all sweets in the hotel, including AERIA, a "floating patisserie" that opened in July 2018, as well as four restaurants and bars, weddings, banquets, etc.
