Limited to 10 per day! The ultimate luxurious melon shortcake is now on sale at Hotel New Otani Osaka

Until around August, Hotel New Otani Osaka's pastry shop, Patisserie Satsuki, will be selling a limited edition of 10 "Extra Super Melon Shortcakes" (3,800 yen) per day, made with luxurious Shizuoka muskmelons.

The "Extra Super Melon Shortcake" is an improved version of the previously available "Super Melon Shortcake," which uses premium ingredients. The melon is squeezed from a single tree, condensing all of its nutrients and flavor, and uses approximately one-third of a Shizuoka muskmelon, approximately 18 cm in diameter. The batter uses "brown rice eggs," a pale lemon-colored egg laid by chickens raised on brown rice, ensuring a flavor that does not overpower the melon. The batter's color has also changed from a yellow castella-like texture to a more white one, highlighting the melon's vibrant color.

The fresh cream is made with almond milk, a favorite among international celebrities. It maximizes the unique and rich flavor of melon, and the freshness of the melon that spreads in your mouth when you put it in your mouth and the subtle sweet flavor of the almond milk cream create the perfect marriage.
