Eataly Ginza, the largest Eataly store in Japan, will open at GINZA SIX on August 25th.

Jul 30, 2021
Eataly Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. will open its flagship store in Japan, "EATALY GINZA," at GINZA SIX on August 25, 2021. This will be Eataly's fourth store in Tokyo and fifth in Japan, and will be one of the largest Eataly stores in Japan.

Eataly Ginza caters to all culinary needs, offering a place where you can explore a variety of ways to spend your time depending on the time of day and the occasion. This is the largest store in Japan and offers five distinct components: three restaurants, a traditional Italian cafe, and a market offering high-quality ingredients from all over Italy.

"LA PIAZZETTA," meaning "little square" in Italian, is a casual gathering area with a glass of wine or an Italian cocktail in hand. "LA PASTA e LA PIZZA" combines a restaurant and pizzeria, offering Eataly standard dishes from Spaghetti Eataly to Pizza Margherita.

"LA GRIGLIA" serves traditional Italian grilled dishes. "Gran Caffé Vergnano 1882" is a café where you can casually enjoy authentic espresso and cappuccino in Ginza. In addition to these dining areas, the area also houses an Italian market, offering approximately 1,500 high-quality ingredients from all over Italy.

Ginza was born in the Edo period, and during the Meiji and Taisho periods, it became a hub for Western culture and influence, brimming with information. Even today, traditions backed by history coexist with cutting-edge culture from Japan and abroad, continuing to evolve into styles that suit the times.

Currently, Ginza is aiming to evolve from a commercial area into a place to live and work. We aim to respond to the diverse lifestyles of Ginza through Italian food culture, because Eataly believes that "EAT BETTER, LIVE BETTER (good food enriches life)." We aim to be a long-loved restaurant as "everyone's place," where you can learn about high-quality Italian cuisine and ingredients and their backgrounds, purchase them, and enjoy a meal at any time.

Eataly restaurants around the world feature themes based on historical events, influential people and ideas.

For example, Eataly Roma pays homage to "beauty," Eataly Smeraldo in Milan, built on the site of a former theater, pays homage to "music," Eataly Dubai pays homage to "the future," and Eataly London pays homage to "craft."

Seasonality is part of Eataly's DNA.

In all its activities, Eataly respects the rhythms of nature and biodiversity, focusing on the charms of our land that change with the seasons. It strives to introduce and share these with its customers and everyone. That's why Eataly has chosen "Seasonality" as the theme for Eataly Ginza.

"Seasonality" is Italian for "stagionalit" and refers to the natural cycles that change year by year, representing the changing of the seasons. This natural rhythm is one of the origins of biodiversity, traditions rooted in the seasons, and the transmission of irreplaceable cultures that continue to evolve over the ages.

To preserve and conserve biodiversity and traditions, we consume seasonal and locally produced products sustainably. Seasonality is the foundation of these food and production practices.

Eataly brings Italy's respect for and connection to seasonality to Ginza, celebrating the land that welcomes us, its seasonal products, traditions, and diversity.

Like Italy, in Japan, traditions, food culture, and respect for the rhythms of nature have been passed down from generation to generation for centuries. We are thrilled to share the shared values of our two cultures, Japanese and Italian, with our Ginza customers. For we are united by a passion for agriculture, history, and, above all, high-quality ingredients.

Eataly Ginza will be a place where the best of Italy and Japan come together.

LA PIAZZETTA
Located almost in the center of the restaurant, this counter, meaning "little square," is inspired by the squares in cheerful Italian towns, where friends and family gather every day to enjoy wine and antipasto. The glass case is packed with small dishes called cicchetti, and you can enjoy an aperitif with an Italian cocktail or glass of wine. In addition to prosciutto and cheese, we also offer small portions of pasta and freshly baked pizza, making it perfect for lunch or a light meal.

LA PASTA e LA PIZZA
“Pasta and pizza” are just the tip of the Italian cuisine (and Eataly’s) iceberg, but there’s a reason these two dishes are the peninsula’s most beloved exports. This restaurant and pizzeria offers a wide range of authentic Italian cuisine, from appetizers to pasta, pizza, second courses, and desserts, as well as seasonal menus inspired by regions of Italy. Pizza dough and fresh pasta are made in-house at the Ginza location.

LA GRIGLIA
An Italian grill restaurant equipped with a full-scale grill, with a focus on quality and grilling. We offer dishes that bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients, using a focus on meat, fish, and seasonal vegetables sourced from all over Japan, grilled over an open flame. We also offer appetizers, fresh pasta, and a wine list that are exclusive to La Griglia. Enjoying the terrace with a panoramic view of Chuo Dori is a special privilege at La Griglia.

Gran Caffè Vergnano 1882
Near the entrance is a bar run by Caffè Vergnano, a long-established brand from Piedmont. Start your day with a high-quality espresso or cappuccino, embodying the Italian lifestyle.

In addition to serving traditional Italian desserts and baked goods, including gelato and the Roman-born maritozzo, we also offer a selection of light snacks that go well with wine and cocktails, so you can stop by for breakfast, lunch, an aperitif, or a late-night snack.

MARKET
Eataly's market, with its carefully selected selection of around 1,500 types of Italian ingredients, is where you can get closer to Italy than anywhere else. Approximately 250 items will be available in Japan for the first time, including pasta, olive oil, sauces, salami and cheese, and wine. Another major attraction is the selection of over 360 types of wine from all 20 Italian regions.

In addition, the Ginza store will expand its "MADE in EATALY" series with handmade takeout items prepared in restaurant kitchens and "meal kits," pasta sets that allow you to easily recreate restaurant-quality meals at home, offering new options to expand your meal options at home.

About EATALY
Founded in 2007, Eataly was born from Oscar Farinetti's vision of "providing high-quality food sustainably at fair prices, respecting Italy's diverse food culture, and creating an informal, natural, and simple place to eat, shop, and learn under one roof."

The name EATALY is a fusion of the words "EAT" and "ITALY." This name embodies the concept of "eating" Italian food, which is attractive in many ways, including its unique history, food culture, and ease of preparation.

Since opening its first store in Turin, Italy in 2007, Eataly has expanded to over 40 locations in 15 countries worldwide.
