Gargantua Hotel Shop on the first floor of the Imperial Hotel Tokyo Main Building has been accepting reservations for Christmas cakes, pastries, and prepared dishes since October 18th. Three new Christmas cakes have been released. The "Isabelle" (20,000 yen for 15 people) is based on the design of American cake designer Maggie Austin, with whom the hotel has partnered since last year to create wedding cakes. The elegant design is adorned with delicate frills made with fresh cream and decorated with chocolate details resembling fresh flowers. This is complemented by the "Heartful Noel" (2,000 yen for two people), a two-person cake inspired by the ring pillow used at weddings, and the "Nicholas" (918 yen), a cut cake inspired by the chimney and fireplace where Santa Claus (Saint Nicholas) arrives. The hotel also offers the ever-popular classic shortcake and the delicious "Buche de Noel" (5,400 yen), with its coffee-flavored buttercream. In addition to cakes, the menu also features Christmas-themed treats such as "Rudolph" (5,940 yen), a chocolate sculpture of a red-nosed reindeer, and "Stollen" (large 4,536 yen, small 1,620 yen), a traditional German Christmas pastry filled with dried fruits and nuts. A special Christmas menu is also available. To commemorate Gargantua's 45th anniversary, the menu includes "Roast Veal with Orlov-Style Madeira Sauce" (4,320 yen), an adaptation of a traditional hotel dish, and "Christmas Hors d'oeuvres Varie" (6,480 yen for four people), which will add color to your Christmas table. Other dishes include the classic "Roast Chicken" (6,480 yen for four to five people) and "Roast Turkey" (19,440 yen for approximately 10 people). All prices include tax.
