Japanese confectionery shop HIGASHIYA is selling traditional "Chitose Ame" (3 sticks for 800 yen, 5 sticks for 1,000 yen), a traditional sweet meant to bring longevity, for a limited time until November 23rd.
Chitose Ame is eaten by parents during the Shichi-Go-San ceremony, a celebration of a child's growth, to pray for their child's longevity. The original bag, decorated with auspicious designs such as cranes, turtles, pine trees, bamboo, and plum trees, contains red and white Chitose Ame, made using traditional methods, which melts in your mouth. We recommend it as a Shichi-Go-San celebration or gift, along with a memento of this special day.
