Aman Tokyo began accepting reservations for its 2016 original Christmas cake on October 1st.
This year's Christmas cake, created by Aman Tokyo pastry chef Yoshihisa Miyagawa, is an Aman-style interpretation of the "Buche de Noël." It features a mousse base made with generous amounts of Valrhona white chocolate from France, topped with chestnut sponge, textured white chocolate and hazelnuts, tart orange mousse and jelly, and caramel cream.
The cake is topped with orange peel preserved in syrup and chestnuts stewed in cognac. The sides of the cake are adorned with white chocolate snowflakes, creating a warm, sophisticated look.
The 12cm cake (for 3-4 people) is priced at ¥5,500 (tax included), and the 15cm cake (for 5-8 people) is priced at ¥7,500 (tax included). Reservations will begin on October 1st, and the collection period will be from December 1st to December 25th (reservations must be made at least five days before the collection date).
