Up-and-coming Italian socially conscious brand releases charity T-shirts at IZA

May 26, 2014

IZA, a select shop on Tokyo's Aoyama Antique Street, released a collaborative T-shirt (7,900 yen) with the up-and-coming Italian brand CO|TE as part of its "IZA LOVE YOU" charity project for the Great East Japan Earthquake. A reception was held on May 23rd, featuring CO|TE designers Tomaso Anfossi and Francesco Ferrari, who visited Japan. The T-shirt features an adorable design, combining hand-drawn messages with animals, typical of the brand's renowned graphic design. The two said of the project, "We believe that contributing to society is important to our brand. We want our customers to understand this. We've donated our collection to disaster victims in Italy as well. Cooperation as human beings is important. Fashion is often viewed superficially. However, we want to show that our brand is about more than just selling."

CO|TE was founded in 2011 by Tomaso and Francesco after graduating from the Marangoni Institute in Milan and Dsquared2. It is characterized by a fabric mix, graphics, and a sporty feel.
