Adidas World Cup team huddle collaboration T-shirts now on sale at Shinjuku Isetan

May 21, 2014

adidas Originals has begun limited sales of the "adidas Originals Enjin Collection," a collaborative T-shirt inspired by the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, produced in collaboration with 10 brands associated with Isetan Men's. Available until the 27th at The Stage on the first floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building.

Adidas, the official supplier of the Japanese national soccer team, is running the "Circle Project" to promote the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil under the slogan "Let's become a circle, Japan." The theme of the "Global Green Campaign" being held by the Isetan Mitsukoshi Group until the 27th is "Bonds between People," which resonates with the message of adidas, leading to the creation of the collaborative T-shirts (7,900 yen each).

Isetan Mitsukoshi commissioned designs from 10 brands associated with Isetan Men's, depicting a "circle" with graphics characteristic of the brands. The "single line of unity" painted on the back of the uniforms, which forms a circle when worn, is the same design as the official uniform. The color of the line on the back was chosen by each brand's designer. The T-shirt's design is the same as the replica T-shirts already sold by Adidas. The buyer in charge of this project commented, "First and foremost, this project was made possible by the strong connection and bond between Mitsukoshi Isetan and each brand. We hope that customers will feel a sense of unity as Japan through these uniform T-shirts as we approach the World Cup, which is held once every four years." The façade is decorated with Japan Blue uniform T-shirts featuring designs from 10 brands, and the floor of the venue is covered with black artificial turf. Additionally, Adidas will gift a special "Enjin Bonfin" (friendship bracelet) to children in Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture, through the Board of Education, equal to the number of T-shirts purchased during the collaboration period. The number of T-shirts sold that day will be displayed on the store's façade every day. The location was chosen because Adidas is planning a public viewing in the city.
