GAP and art and fashion magazine Visionaire are releasing limited-edition T-shirts as part of their second collaboration, fusing fashion and art. Seven of the collection's pieces feature UV-sensitive ink, a sunlight-sensitive paint developed for Visionaire's "SOLAR"-themed issue 56. Ugo Rondinone's light bulbs glow blue, and blue eyes appear in Peter Lindbergh's black-and-white landscapes. Artworks by Alex Katz, Yoko Ono, François Berthoud, Roe Ethridge, and Richard Phillips also take on vibrant hues in the sunlight.
Also available are three T-shirts featuring photo prints of works by Mario Sorrenti, Marc Quinn, and Tony Oursler, as well as a new version of Yoko Ono's "Grow Love With Me," a popular design from the first installment of the series, in a white background with gold foil. Only 500 of each will be available at major Gap flagship stores and participating Visionnaire retailers around the world. In Japan, only 50 of each will be available at the flagship store in Harajuku, Tokyo.
Visionnaire is an art and fashion magazine from New York that is published in limited, numbered copies. Launched in the spring of 1991, each issue has a different theme and format. The magazine has featured celebrities from a wide range of genres, including Andy Warhol, David Bowie, and Zaha Hadid. In 2014, the magazine collaborated with Gap to release limited edition T-shirts for collectors featuring various themes and art from past and future issues.
