Youngest Oscar nominee Quvenzhane becomes face of Armani Junior

May 26, 2014

Armani Junior has selected Quvenzhane Wallis, the youngest Oscar nominee, as the campaign model for its Fall/Winter 2014-2015 collection. Designer Giorgio Armani commented, "Quvenzhane's kindness, curiosity, and open-mindedness are all things I value, and I want her to be the new face of Armani Junior. Her energy brings the clothes to life in a way that only she can." Quvenzhane added, "Being chosen as an ambassador was as exciting as winning a major film role. Standing on the Oscar stage in a custom-made gown by Armani, I felt like a princess. I love Armani Junior clothes and enjoy wearing them." In the portrait, taken by photographer Stefano Azario, Quvenzhane appears against a canvas backdrop. She is wearing a black suit and has a puppy on her shoulder.

Quvenzhane was born in 2003 as a child actress. In 2013, she became the youngest person ever to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the film "Bush Puppies." She also appeared in "12 Years a Slave," which won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2014, and will star in the musical film "Annie," which is scheduled for release in the US at the end of the year.
