Paul by Paul Smith will release a collaborative collection of T-shirts and handkerchiefs with London-based graphic artist Ian Stevenson.
Designer Paul Smith took photos with his iPhone, and Stevenson added artwork such as ironic yet humorous illustrations and quotes. Five T-shirt prints (14,000 yen each) and seven handkerchief prints (2,100 yen each) featuring images such as London parks and Mount Fuji as seen from an airplane will be available. The collection will be available in Paul Smith women's shops and on the online store from May 16th.
In addition, Stevenson's solo exhibition, "Satisfaction Guaranteed," will be held at the Paul Smith Space Gallery in Jingumae, Tokyo, from May 16th until June 15th.
Ian Stevenson graduated from Camberwell College of Arts, one of the colleges of the University of the Arts London, in 1999. He creates works using pen without using a computer, using a wide range of objects as canvases, from walls and trash cans to toilets. He participated in the "HAPPY LONDON" exhibition held at the Paul Smith Space Gallery in 2007. He has collaborated with Microsoft, Perrier, Boots, and others.
