Isetan Mitsukoshi Ltd., together with Mitsui & Co., Ltd., will begin a demonstration experiment on July 5th at the headquarters of Realgate Co., Ltd., a company that plans and operates creative offices, in which a dedicated mobile shop, a mobility-sized version of an Isetan Mitsukoshi brick-and-mortar store, will visit offices, apartments, and other locations. This demonstration experiment will be conducted in conjunction with "good place," an office service that supports new working styles and is operated by Realgate as a partner company of "shibuya good pass," a co-creation urban development project between Mitsui & Co. and Hakuhodo Inc. to improve the Shibuya area. "good place shopping by Isetan Mitsukoshi" will create a special shopping experience for office workers, offering sustainable shopping experiences and lifestyle suggestions.

Background of the Initiative


As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, work styles around the world are changing dramatically, with companies increasingly adopting telework. The role of workplaces will also need to change. We also launched this demonstration experiment to address the various concerns and needs of customers who are unable to visit our stores due to childcare or elderly care responsibilities, and to support office workers in a lifestyle suited to the modern era.

"Concierge Service," which offers cross-brand coordination suggestions tailored to customers' needs through the "Isetan Mitsukoshi Remote Shopping App." Through these services, we aim to provide each customer with a private, sustainable experience and lifestyle suggestions, creating a special shopping experience outside of a physical store.


Sociable Cart "SC-1" is an autonomous vehicle designed to provide a new mobility experience.
- A model that combines Sony's entertainment imaging technology with Yamaha Motor's autonomous driving technology.
- Equipped with an image sensor that exceeds human visual capabilities, it can grasp the surrounding environment with images focused in all directions.
- The characteristics of the image sensor and the 4K display installed inside allow occupants to see their surroundings even at night without headlights.
- In this demonstration experiment, Isetan Mitsukoshi's customer service will be provided using Sony's imaging technology.


1. Cultivating attachment and making it natural to "not throw things away" - "i'm green"


- A purchase and collection service aimed at realizing a "no waste society," which began on a trial basis on October 14, 2020, on the 7th floor of the new Mitsukoshi Main Store in Nihonbashi.
- We also offer methods for recycling some clothing items as resources, and our dedicated stylists (sales staff) will suggest the most suitable method.
