Grand Hyatt Tokyo will begin accepting reservations for eight types of Christmas cakes from October 15th.
Last year's popular "Mosaic Cake" (12cm x 12cm 5,000 yen, 15cm x 15cm 7,500 yen), a colorful assortment of 3cm square cakes, will be available again this year. Eight different cakes are used, allowing you to enjoy a variety of flavors in one cake. The cake is as gorgeous as a mosaic art piece, and is a visual delight. There are eight flavors available: rose raspberry, pistachio, mango, caramel, chocolate mousse, fromage blanc, blueberry, and apricot. Other new items include "Profiteroles" (6,800 yen), a shortcake topped with four types of cream puffs: chocolate, caramel, pistachio, and strawberry; "Carino" (4,000 yen), a chocolate blanc kouglof-shaped mousse cake filled with strawberry jelly and pistachio biscuit; "Bourg à Neige" (3,900 yen), a cake decorated with fresh cream and strawberries and topped with a clear candy lid; and "Assorted Petit Verrines" (4,000 yen), an assortment of 10 types of petit verrines in cups.
Also, from November 1st to December 25th, Christmas breads will be on sale, including "Stollen" (S size 1,350 yen, M size 2,500 yen), which is made by kneading dried fruit that has been soaked in rum for three months into the dough together with nuts, and "Panettone" (S size 1,200 yen, M size 2,200 yen), which is made with plenty of dried fruit.
