Shiseido's skincare brand, THE GINZA, will release a new product, "Hybrid Gel Oil" (100ml, 25,000 yen), on September 21st. Ahead of the release, the company held a launch event at The Peninsula Tokyo on June 11th. The "Hybrid Gel Oil" was unveiled in a venue consisting of three sections: a gallery-style booth introducing the brand's history, an installation venue showcasing the product's image, and a touch-up space. THE GINZA is a skincare brand launched in 2002 under the philosophy, "Are clothes skin? Is skin clothing?" The birth of this philosophy dates back 40 years, to 1975. The Ginza boutique, which opened in Ginza 7-chome, was Japan's first select shop. It was a well-known fashion mecca as a pioneer of select shops, carrying Giorgio Armani, Prada, Alaia, Helmut Lang, Maison Martin Margiela, Dries Van Noten, Alexander McQueen, and others. Though the boutique business closed in 2009, the skincare brand has since grown into a premium skincare brand with many fans overseas. While most skincare brands focus solely on beauty, the brand was originally developed for the fashion-conscious frequenters of The Ginza boutique, resulting in a unique and simple skincare concept. Its all-encompassing formula addresses each individual user's needs, regardless of skin color, skin type, climate, season, or skin concerns. Its products are designed to address each individual's needs, and are created to reflect customer demand for truly exceptional products.
