Shiseido Parlour will open "Bar S" on the 11th floor of the Shiseido Building in Ginza, Tokyo, on June 3rd.
The building, which houses Shiseido Parlour, Faro Shiseido, Shiseido Gallery, and a cultural salon, opened in 2001. This year, marking its 15th anniversary, a new bar will open in addition to the sweets shop, cafe, and restaurant.
The "S" in the name "Bar S" represents various "S"s such as "Salon," "Smile," "Special," and "Share," and represents the desire for customers to spend time in their own style.
The spatial design was handled by designer Ryu Kosaka, who won the BEST BAR award at the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2014. With the aim of creating a bar that will become a "symbol of Ginza," the bar is composed of two areas: a bar counter area where you can drop in casually, and a lounge where you can gather with friends. The ceiling above the bar counter is fitted with a retractable skylight, allowing you to enjoy a leisurely drink while feeling the pleasant night breeze coming in through the skylight during warmer seasons.
In addition to original food, the menu will include a "Bar S"-style arrangement of Shiseido Parlour menu items supervised by the executive chef of Shiseido Parlour, as well as dishes created by Faro Shiseido specifically for the bar. Drinks include cocktails, wine, champagne, sake, and original seasonal drinks. Prices start from 800 yen including tax for both food and drinks.
