Nail artist JUNKO suggests easy and stylish DIY nail designs for summer. Today, she used nail polish from NAILS INC, a leading UK nail brand and the inspiration for Alexa Chung. "Bohemian is a hot fashion trend, and I created a neo-70s nail look that really shines in the summer sun. I created a simple design inspired by stacked bracelets. I wanted people to enjoy their nails as part of their accessories," says JUNKO. The hands are finished in a clean, single color, taking advantage of their vibrant color. Nails INC nail polish is known for its powerful color payoff, even with just one coat. JUNKO even gives it her stamp of approval, saying, "I can safely say it has the best color payoff!" It dries super fast, saving you time on nails, making it a great choice for busy working women.

The Gel Effect series from "Queen's Gardens," which I used on my hands, is particularly notable for its plasticky texture, almost like a vinyl film. For the feet, I chose "Nail Kale Gloucester Walk." The turquoise and purple color combination on the hands and feet gives it a 70s feel. The key to the "bohemian" feel is the glitter from "Luxe Boho Primrose Hill Walk" that accents the feet. As the name suggests, it's a blend of large and small glitter in retro colors.

"The bottle designed by art director Fabien Baron is also my favorite!" says JUNKO. What's so great about it is its curved shape, which makes it easy to hold. She also shared a tip on how to use it: by placing your finger on the bottom of the bottle, you can simulate the final nail finish.
■Items Used
Gel Effect Nail Polish Queen's Gardens 2,800 yen
Nail Kale Nail Polish Gloucester Walk 2,600 yen
Luxe Boho Nail Polish Primrose Hillwalk 2,800 yen
■How to
(1) For the foot art, make polish stickers (*) using Luxe Boho Nail Polish Primrose Hillwalk. However, glitter takes a long time to dry, so it's best to prepare it the day before. When making polish stickers with glitter, the trick is to apply it in layers with the tip of the brush, patting it on rather than running it over the brush. If the glitter doesn't stick to the brush properly, turn the bottle upside down to help the glitter collect on the brush.
(2) Shape the hands into a short, round shape. One coat of Gel Effect Nail Polish Queen's Gardens is sufficient. It dries quickly, so you can finish the hands first.
(3) Cut out the glitter polish stickers made in (1). For the feet, apply two coats of Nail Kale Nail Polish Gloucester Walk, checking the balance with the hands. Before it dries completely, apply the cut polish stickers to your thumb, middle finger, and little finger to complete.

*What are polish stickers?
All you need is a clear file. Use the clear file as a backing and draw a square with the polish you want to make the sticker with. We recommend applying two to three coats. Once dry, you can peel it off from the clear file like a film. Cut it into the shape you like and use it like a sticker. When you want to apply it, if the color underneath has dried, use the base coat as adhesive.
