An elegant sweets buffet at InterContinental Tokyo Bay, featuring the Rococo style that evokes the salon culture of the French court.

Event Date:2021.05.15-08.20
Apr 17, 2021
InterContinental Tokyo Bay will host a sweets buffet themed around Marie Antoinette, the iconic queen of French royalty, reminiscent of the elegant tea parties held at the Palace of Versailles. The buffet includes Marie Antoinette's favorite dessert, the Kouglof, as well as meringue treats like Vacherin and Pavlova. Pale blue jelly, rosé wine jelly, chocolate pistachios, and dragées evoke the Rococo aesthetic of the salon culture of the French court. A limited-time special, Peach Melba, a dessert of compote peach served with vanilla ice cream, will also be available to liven up any sweets party. Guests can also enjoy seven types of savory dishes (light meals) such as salads made with seasonal vegetables, pesto pasta, and chicken vinegar stew, as well as black and iced tea from "Lupicia," a specialty tea shop from around the world.

Founded in 1821 in Gien, a town blessed with abundant nature on the banks of the Loire River south of Paris. In the early days, the company focused on producing everyday items, but then drew inspiration from famous European potteries of the 17th and 18th centuries, mastering their superior techniques and exhibiting at the World's Fair, where they were honored to win a gold medal. Since then, they have attracted the attention of royalty and aristocrats around the world, and their custom-made tableware engraved with family crests has been well-received and beloved by many. At Gien, the spirit of made-to-order products and the motto of bringing happiness to people's dining tables are still cherished and passed down as our basic philosophy.
