Katane Bakery, a popular bakery in Yoyogi-Uehara, Tokyo, released its first book, "Daily Bread" (¥1,400) on November 5th. Katane Bakery was opened in 2002 in a residential area of Yoyogi-Uehara by a then-28-year-old couple. A local favorite, the bakery is a regular in magazine bread features and enjoys weekend queues. Known as a driving force behind the current bread boom, the bakery has expanded its reach, including providing bread to Blue Bottle Coffee. This new book is a "bread catalog" featuring all of the bakery's products. Based on their motto of "making bread you'll never tire of every day," the book features 150 varieties of bread, sandwiches, baked goods, and seasonal specials, all presented with full-color photographs and detailed explanations. The book also includes recipes for the bread menu served at Katane Cafe, located in the basement, and a column by the couple.
